WinZO

Numbers stay in my notebook longer than feelings do. From February to August 2025 I played WinZO's cash formats — Ludo mostly, Callbreak on slow evenings — from my kitchen table in Navrangpura, Ahmedabad, on a Vivo T2x over Jio AirFiber. When the cash side wound down, I handled it the way I handle any payment problem: dated screenshots into a Drive folder named by month, the ticket number on the fridge whiteboard, a 48-hour follow-up alarm. This page is that record, plus what the app actually is in July 2026.

WinZO in July 2026: the games load, the cash lobby is gone

Status first, checked 21 July 2026: WinZO no longer runs money games in India. WinZO Games — the New Delhi company founded in 2018 by Paavan Nanda and Saumya Singh Rathore, claiming over 17.5 crore registered users and 100+ titles in 12 languages — withdrew its real-money formats on 22 August 2025, once the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 came in, and said active users would be refunded in full. Since then the product has changed shape entirely: free-to-play games, a US launch alongside its Brazil operation, and ZO TV, a micro-drama feed stitched into the app at roughly ₹2 an episode after the free ones. The current build, v36.7.5042 listed 10 July 2026, installs at about 80 MB — with no add-cash button anywhere.

My exit ledger: ₹1,643, three screenshots, seventeen days

On 23 August 2025 at 9:05 AM I photographed the wallet before touching anything: ₹1,643 in total — ₹1,100 clear and withdrawable, ₹310 locked as "in-play" from a Callbreak room the shutdown had interrupted mid-deal, and ₹233 of bonus credit. Then I worked the list down:

From the closure mail: "Your pending game amount has been settled in full. No further action is required from your side."

My own mistake cost three of those seventeen days: I first filed the ₹310 under "Add cash issue" instead of "Withdrawals", and it sat in the wrong queue. The auto-close on 1 September genuinely angered me — a bot shutting a money question — but the reopened ticket drew a human reply with a line-by-line ledger, and by 9 September my irritation had turned into something close to respect. ₹1,410 of ₹1,643 came back. The missing ₹233 is the next section's story.

The ₹233 nobody was ever going to refund

The refund policy covered deposits and winnings; bonus credit was excluded, and my ₹233 lapsed without so much as a notification. Fair enough on paper — bonus slices had always released only against played games, each with its own expiry — but a one-line mail would have cost them nothing. Today's annoyance is different in kind: ZO TV pushed three or four episode notifications a day at me until I found the toggle buried under Settings → Notifications.

What my ledger says the cash era was like

My first entry reads 9 February 2025: APK fetched, browser install prompt allowed once, OTP registration, ₹150 added by Paytm UPI, and a ₹5 Ludo room inside the first ten minutes. Over seven months I put in ₹800 across five top-ups and never once had a deposit hang — the wallet was genuinely one balance across every format, which made my month-end reconciliation absurdly easy. Small payouts cleared same-day even before the wind-down; the exit above was consistent with the app I had been logging all along.

Three wind-downs, three styles: WinZO against the rummy majors

Every big operator exited differently. RummyCircle froze deposits and drifted into free-to-play; RummyCulture announced its dates and shut for good in October 2025. WinZO was the only one of the three that promised proactive refunds — though my ticket trail shows "proactive" still needed a nudge for locked amounts. If I score them as a record-keeper: WinZO gave the cleanest paper trail, RummyCulture the clearest deadline, RummyCircle the least communication.
