Most rummy apps treated tournaments as decoration. RummyCircle — run by Games24x7 (the Mumbai company behind My11Circle), live since 2012 and claiming over 5 crore registered players — was the one app where the knockout lobby was the product. From June to mid-August 2025 I played my last full season on my Samsung Galaxy A54, judging only the tournament ecosystem. This is that record, kept because nothing on my phone has matched it since.

Where RummyCircle stands in July 2026

Product status first, checked 21 July 2026: RummyCircle no longer offers real-money rummy in India. Games24x7 suspended cash operations in late August 2025, after the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 was passed, and the app stopped accepting deposits; reports at the time said the company also let go of around 70% of its staff. The APK still installs and deals cards as a free-to-play game. Everything below about money — entries, pools, bonuses, payouts — describes summer 2025, not today.

Reading the tourney lobby like a scoresheet

Three rules before any knockout: open the prize-distribution table first and skip events that hide it; set a 45-minute alarm, because knockouts eat evenings; log every round on a paper scorepad — an old club-rummy habit from Jaipur. RummyCircle passed the first test: every event listed entries, pool and paid places before you committed a rupee.

Event typeEntryWhat I found (summer 2025)
Daily free tourneys₹02 PM & 10 PM, ₹1,00,000 pool, top 200 paid; I placed 371st of 28,000+ on 3 July 2025
Cash knockouts₹25–₹500+Pool scaled with entries; roughly the top quarter of the field got paid
Mega / club eventsVariesMonth-long qualifier ladders; club tourneys were free but locked to your loyalty tier
Note to self: the prize table never lies. The lobby banner always oversells.

My ₹55 Sunday knockout, deal by deal

Sunday 6 July 2025, 8 PM, my brother's flat in Malviya Nagar — monsoon cut the power in round two; on inverter light and a Jio 4G fallback, reconnect restored my hand in six seconds. The event: ₹55 entry, 812 runners, a shade under ₹38,000 in the pool. Format: every round was two 13-card deals against the same table, cumulative points decided who advanced, and scores reset each round — one ugly deal was survivable if the next was clean. Rounds one and two were routine. Round three carried my mistake of the season: I discarded the 7♦ reading my opponent on hearts, and it completed his 6♦–8♦ run; deal one gone by 42 points. I sat the anger out, played deal two tight and showed off a first-pick pure sequence. Rounds four and five went on points; knocked out in round six — ninth place, ₹1,150 credited at 11:26 PM. Ninth of 812 for ₹55 was the ratio that kept me returning.

The ₹300 the taxman took from my payout

Setup back then took four minutes on Airtel fibre — fetch the APK, allow the browser install prompt once, register with mobile OTP, finish PAN-based KYC before depositing (which is why my payout was not held later). I added ₹400 by GPay on 2 July 2025; the full ₹400 showed as playable, the 28% deposit GST absorbed as discount credit, as it worked that July. On 8 July 2025 at 9:12 PM I requested ₹1,400 to my PhonePe UPI; the confirmation screen split the sum before I confirmed — something smaller apps refused to do:

Line on the payout screenAmount
Withdrawal requested₹1,400
Deposit offset (my add-cash)−₹400
Taxable net winnings₹1,000
TDS at 30%−₹300
Credited to UPI, 9:41 PM₹1,100

That was the rule in force through my 2025 season: 30% TDS on net winnings at withdrawal — broadly, what you took out minus what you put in. I was irritated watching ₹300 vanish, then redid the sum on my scorepad and it matched to the rupee. Irritation turned into grudging trust.

A version trail that tells the shutdown story

Build numbers are from public APK archives, checked 21 July 2026; only the current build has a confirmed date, and changelogs stay vague. My whole cash season ran on the mid-2025 build.

Where RummyCulture and RummyTime beat it — and don't

In that same season, small payouts landed faster for me on RummyCulture, and RummyTime filled six-player tables quicker after midnight. Neither ran fields like this — a 28,000-runner free event or an 812-entry Sunday knockout existed on neither. For tournament play, this was the deepest lobby of the three; for grinding points rummy, the siblings were lighter installs.

The tranche trap inside the ₹2,000 banner

The welcome offer read ₹2,000 on a minimum ₹200 add-cash — but it was not instant cash. Mine released in small tranches as I played eligible cash games, each slice with its own expiry, and none of it worked as tournament entry money. Second sting: club tier capped free withdrawals per month; my second payout request warned I had used one of my free ones before a processing fee kicked in. Neither was a scandal. Both were absent from the banner — and the whole offer ended with the August 2025 suspension.

Play it like a hobby, not an income: strictly 18+, real money can be lost, and bonus credit means nothing until its play-through is cleared. I capped that whole season at ₹500 in and left when my 45-minute alarm rang — copy that discipline wherever you play next.

RummyCircle FAQ

Does RummyCircle still offer real-money rummy in 2026?
No. As of 21 July 2026, deposits, cash tables and paid tournaments are switched off. Games24x7 suspended real-money operations in late August 2025 after the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 was passed; the app now runs as free-to-play.
Who actually runs RummyCircle?
Games24x7, the Mumbai company that also operates My11Circle. The platform went live in 2012 and claimed more than 5 crore registered players before the 2025 suspension, which is why its tournament fields were the biggest I ever played in.
Did the free-entry tournaments pay real cash?
They did until August 2025. The daily free events at 2 PM and 10 PM carried a ₹1,00,000 pool with the top 200 paid. No deposit was needed, but fields could cross 28,000 players — practice with a lottery ticket attached.
How did TDS show up when you withdrew?
30% was deducted on net winnings at the moment of withdrawal. On my ₹1,400 request in July 2025, ₹400 counted as deposit offset, ₹1,000 as net winnings, ₹300 went as TDS and ₹1,100 reached my UPI in 29 minutes.
Was the ₹2,000 welcome bonus instant cash?
No. It unlocked in tranches as you played eligible cash games after a minimum ₹200 deposit, each tranche with an expiry, and in my account it never worked as tournament entry money. The offer ended with the cash suspension.
How big is the current RummyCircle APK?
Version 11000.99, dated 16 May 2026, weighs roughly 102 MB and installs as a free-to-play game. My mid-range Galaxy A54 ran six knockout rounds on the mid-2025 build without heating up.
